9 Days – Discover Sri Lanka Tour

Day 1-Airport/ Paduwasnuwara/Yapahuwa

Pick up from the airport by one of our representatives & head to the Paduwasnuwara. Panduwasnuwara is an ancient city in the Kurunegala area which functioned as the capital of Sri Lanka for a very brief period. King Parakramabahu set up his temporary capital in this city during the 12th century. During this period, Panduwasnuwara was the city housing the sacred tooth relic which was brought back to Sri Lanka from India by King Parakramabahu. After having breakfast we drive to yapahuwa. A royal residence in 13th century Yapahuwa was able to preserve some interesting remains. While many traces of other ancient defenses are still seen, an ornamental stairway remains as the main piece.

Located in Kurunegala, belonging to the North Western Province of Sri Lanka, the Yapahuwa ancient fortress rises to a height of 90 m above the surrounding plains. Built by King Buwanekabahu the First, as the capital of Sri Lanka in 1301, today, the Royal residence, the Temple of Tooth Relic, the battle defenses are in ruins. After visiting Yapahuwa, we proceed to the hotel in Yapahuwa. Enjoy dinner & stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 2 – Yapahuwa

After having breakfast we drive to yapahuwa. A royal residence in 13th century Yapahuwa was able to preserve some interesting remains. While many traces of other ancient defenses are still seen, an ornamental stairway remains as the main piece.

Day 3 – Kandy

After having healthy breakfast we can visit temple of the tooth & Peradeniya botanical garden. Temple of the tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. Then we get our lunch and go to visit peradeniya botanical garden. Peradeniya Royal Botanic Gardens were formerly the king’s pleasure garden, 6km south of Kandy. They are in a loop in the River Mahaweli Ganga. If you required visiting SPIC garden we can be arranged it. Stay overnight in Kandy hotel.

Day 4 – Kandy / Ella

After breakfast we leaving for the hotel & we will take the train to Ella. The train journey from Kandy to Ella takes approximately 6 hours, in our case just over 7 hours. We took the 8.20am train from Kandy. Due to the long journey, we will provide you snacks, coffee and milk during the train journey. We arrived in Ella at 3:30pm.

Kandy to Ella is the most popular Railway track among the tourists as this goes through the Tea Plantation and most scenic landscapes in Sri Lanka’s Hill Country. It is supposed to be one of the most scenic and beautiful journeys in the world. We would provide you lunch along the way. After train tour we proceed to hotel & stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 – Nuwaraeliya

After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya, located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is famous for the tea states and the tea factories which you can visit and have look in that produces some of the country’s best tea. Then we can visit Ramboda waterfalls & in the evening we visit Nuwaraeliya town & Gregory Park. Then we come back to the hotel & stay night at the hotel.

Day 6- Hortain place

After breakfast we make a visit to Horton Plains. Horton Plains National Park is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka of Nuwara Eliya District. It is positioned at the eastern boundaries of the Upper Montane Forest Range (1500m-2524m above sea level) of Central Highland of Sri Lanka. The plateau of Horton Plains which is at a nominal elevation of 2100 m also bears the 2nd and the 3rd highest peaks of Sri Lanka.you can also visit big word’s end place & small word’s end in here. On Completion of the trek proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Stay night in the hotel.

Day 7- Yala national park

After having breakfasts relax at the hotel and then we travel to yala national park. The Yala National Park is well known for the best wildlife safari in the whole Sri Lanka. Then we check in hotel and evening we went to jeep safari, Sri Lankan elephant, bears, peacocks, deer & leopard lives in this park. After the jeep safari we come back to the hotel & stay overnight in there.

Day 8 – Mirissa

After having breakfast we travel to Mirissa & check in Mirissa Hotel. Then we can visit the Mirissa Beach, and you can bathe, boat riding and surfing and cycling and bathe,.Then we get lunch & stay overnight at Mirissa hotel. You can also watching colorful evening sunset.

Day 9 – Mirissa

Mirissa is a   one of the best places to go shopping. It has high-class boutiques, several street markets where you can buy local shops selling original and high quality batik. If you are traveling to Mirissa after having breakfast, you can shop the throughout the city .After shopping we arrange lunch for you at the hotel then we leave the hotel at the standard check out time & proceed to the airport for the departure.
