Airport/ Paduwasnuwara / Yapahuwa
Pick up from the airport by one of our representatives & head to the Paduwasnuwara. Panduwasnuwara is an ancient city in the Kurunegala area which functioned as the capital of Sri Lanka for a very brief period. King Parakramabahu set up his temporary capital in this city during the 12th century. During this period, Panduwasnuwara was the city housing the sacred tooth relic which was brought back to Sri Lanka from India by King Parakramabahu. After having breakfast we drive to yapahuwa. A royal residence in 13th century Yapahuwa was able to preserve some interesting remains. While many traces of other ancient defenses are still seen, an ornamental stairway remains as the main piece.
Located in Kurunegala, belonging to the North Western Province of Sri Lanka, the Yapahuwa ancient fortress rises to a height of 90 m above the surrounding plains. Built by King Buwanekabahu the First, as the capital of Sri Lanka in 1301, today, the Royal residence, the Temple of Tooth Relic, the battle defenses are in ruins. After visiting Yapahuwa, we proceed to the hotel in Yapahuwa. Enjoy dinner & stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 2- Anuradhapura
After having healthy breakfast we drive to the Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura is a must visit tourist destination for those who wish to see what Sri Lanka was 2000 years ago. Today Anuradhapura is one of the world’s major archaeological site it is covered area about 40 km².Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Lankan civilization. Firstly we visit the Sri Maha Bodhi which is the oldest tree in the world of recorded history. Then we reach to Abhayagiri Dagaba, Ruwanwelisaya Stupais considered a marvel for its architectural qualities.Thuparamaya Collarbone of Buddha is enshrined in the chetiya of Thuparamaya. Lovamahapaya,Jetavanaramaya which is the largest stupa in Sri Lanka,Mirisaveti Stupa&Lankarama.After we visit Anuradhapura Museum. Then stay the night in the Anuradhapura Hotel. Day 3-Habarana/ Sigiriya
After breakfast we will precede Habarana hotel & relax in little bit of time at hotel. Then we proceed to the polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa is the second largest city in north western province in Sri Lanka and the second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdom. And then we derive to the Sigiriya, sigiriya, the eighth wonder of the world and it is rock Kindom and we can see marvelous “Bithu sithuwam” in here. After climbing Sigiriya frock we come back to the Habarana hotel.
Day 4 – Habarana
After having breakfast, If you are an adventurous animal lover, Habarana is the place for you. Known for its wild life, it is ideally located to both, the Habarana Jungle and the Minneriya Sanctuary, which offers interesting wildlife sites including the regionally famous Sri Lankan elephant. At the end of day we come back to the hotel.
Day 5 – Habarana / Ritigala
After having breakfast we proceed to Ritigala. Ritigala 600m above the surrounding plains is the highest peak in the northern plains. It is experiencing a very high rain fall in the north east monsoon compared with the rest of the northern dry zone and cooler climate has resulted in a great many number of wet zone plants. Ritigala may also have housed a hospital. The mountainside on which the monastery sits is thought to be the Ramayana’s Aristha, the place from which Hanuman leapt from Lanka back to India, having discovered where Sita was being held captive. According to popular belief, Hanuman later passed by Ritigala again, carelessly dropping one of the chunks of Himalayan Mountain which he was carrying back from India for its medicinal herbs this is held to account for the unusually wide range of plants and herbs found at Ritigala. After visiting ritigala come back to the hotel.
Day 6 – Habarana/ Dambulla/Kandy
After having breakfast from the hotel we drive to Dambulla. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri lanka. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. We can visit those places then we drive to Kandy. Kandy is a major city in sri lanka located in the central province in sri lanka.Kandy is the home of the temple of the tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. On completion of the day we stay hotel in Kandy.
Day 7 – Kandy
Kandy is also one of the best places to go shopping. It has a massive shopping mall full of high-class boutiques, several street markets where you can buy fresh fruits, and local shops selling original and high quality batik. If you are traveling to Kandy after having breakfast, you can shop the throughout the city of the Kandy. After shopping we arrange lunch for you at the hotel then if you like to visit SPIC garden,we can arrange it for you. Spice garden at mavanella which grows spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication. After that we come back to the Hotel in Kandy. In the evening in Kandy there is a cultural showing daily in four places, you wish to visit that we can carry with you.
Day 8 –Pinnawala
After having breakfast from the hotel we check out the hotel & drive to pinnawala.The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is situated northwest of the town of Kegalle, halfway between the present capital Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy .The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to the many orphaned Elephants found in the jungles of Sri Lanka. The aim of the orphanage is to simulate a natural habitat to these elephants. We can see, the elephants are taken to the river for a bath, and all the babies less than three years of age are still bottle fed by the mahouts and volunteers, after watching those we drive to hotel in Negambo.
Day 9 – Negambo/ Airport
Enjoy healthy breakfast of the hotel & rest of the day free for leisure activities. Then we proceed to the airport in time for your departure fight. We hope you have had an enjoyable holiday.
